# User Guide

> Learn how to select a clock style, change its colors, and adjust LumaClock settings.

## Show or hide controls

LumaClock keeps the clock face unobstructed. Tap an empty area of the screen to show or hide the control buttons.

When visible, the controls are arranged around the screen:

* **Upper left**: turn the optional ticking sound on or off.
* **Upper right**: open Settings.
* **Lower left**: open the clock-style picker.
* **Lower right**: change the current style's color scheme when available, and switch between portrait and landscape.

## Choose a clock style

1. Tap the palette button in the lower-left corner.
2. Scroll through the style picker.
3. Tap a style to apply it immediately.
4. Tap outside the picker to return to the clock.

LumaClock includes more than 30 styles, from clean graphic designs to animated particles, stars, aurora, and shader-based scenes. Your last selected style is remembered on the device.

## Change a style's color scheme

Some styles include multiple color schemes. If the current style supports them, a paintbrush button appears at the lower right.

1. Tap the paintbrush button.
2. Select a color scheme from the list.

The selected scheme is saved separately for that style. Styles without the paintbrush button use a fixed appearance.

## Change display settings

Open **Settings** with the upper-right gear button, then use the **Display** section to adjust:

* **24-Hour Time** — display 00:00–23:59 instead of AM/PM time.
* **Time Display** — show hours and minutes, or hours, minutes, and seconds.
* **Show Date** — add the current date to the clock face.
* **Show Battery** — add the device battery level to the clock face.

## Keep the screen on

In **Settings > System**, turn on **Keep Screen On** to prevent the display from sleeping while LumaClock is open. This is useful for a desk or bedside clock, but can increase battery use. Turn it off when you no longer need a continuously visible clock.

## Change language

In **Settings > System > Language**, choose **System Default**, **Simplified Chinese**, or **English**. The new language takes effect in the app interface.

## Switch orientation

Tap the orientation button in the lower-right corner to lock the clock to portrait or landscape. The button icon indicates the orientation you can switch to next.

## Enable the ticking sound

Tap the speaker button in the upper-left corner to enable or mute the ticking sound. LumaClock remembers this preference locally.
